L’Académie des Talents méditerranéens (ATM) a été initiée par le Campus Groupe AFD et StartUpBrics en 2021. Elle est aujourd’hui opérée par INCO et portée par le Groupe AFD à travers son Campus et sa Direction Régionale Afrique du Nord, avec le soutien de la Délégation Interministérielle à la Méditerranée (DIMED). Le programme a été officiellement annoncé le 7 février 2022 par le Président Emmanuel Macron lorsde la cérémonie d’ouverture du Forum des mondes méditerranéens à Marseille. HOW THE PROGRAM BEGAN In his closing speech at the “Sommet des Deux Rives” in 2019, French President Emmanuel Macron highlighted the urgency of imagining a new “Mediterranean world” - a positive, shared future that unlocks the region’s full potential. A future shaped by committed young leaders ready to take ownership of their destiny. The Academy of Mediterranean Talents was launched in 2021 by AFD Campus and StartUpBrics, and is now led by the AFD Group through its Campus, with support from the North Africa Regional Office and backing from the Interministerial Delegation for the Mediterranean (DIMED). Operated by INCO, the Academy brings to life the ambition of renewing perspectives between both shores of the Mediterranean by empowering young changemakers to build collective, community-rooted projects that transform their societies. The program was officially announced on 7 February 2022 by President Emmanuel Macron during the opening ceremony of the Forum des Mondes Méditerranéens in Marseille. For this new edition, AFD Group and INCO are joining forces once again through the Academy of Mediterranean Talents to continue promoting a more sustainable, fair, and resilient Mediterranean. À propos Apply by 11.01.26 Enjeux THE MEDITERRANEAN: TODAY'S CHALLENGES, TOMORROW'S OPPORTUNITIES The Mediterranean basin, positioned at the intersection of three continents, has always been a natural hub for human connection and exchange. Despite its divisions and contrasts, the region’s geography, history, and diversity give it a unique ability to bring people together. The Mediterranean is also a major biodiversity hotspot. Although it represents less than 1% of the world’s ocean surface, it hosts 25–30% of all endemic marine species and 10% of all known marine species. On land, the region contains around 10% of the planet’s higher plant species, concentrated in just 1.6% of the Earth’s surface. This rich and fragile ecosystem plays a crucial role in maintaining global biodiversity balance. OF THE WORLD'S MARINE BIODIVERSITY As a strategic transit and exchange area, the Mediterranean Sea carries nearly 30% of global maritime traffic, even though it covers only 1% of the world’s oceans. Yet the region is also marked by deep disparities. Unequal economic development between the two shores and rising migration flows reveal persistent social, economic, and political divisions. 30% OF GLOBAL MARITIME TRAFFIC +150 HERITAGE SITES The Mediterranean region - shaped by centuries of cultures and civilizations - hosts more than 150 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Its historic cities, known for their remarkable architecture, give the region its unique character. But rapid large-scale urban expansion has reshaped many of these landscapes, putting this rich heritage at risk. Preserving these exceptional shared assets is a major challenge for every city in the region, and essential to protecting our Mediterranean identity. 3rd Edition 2026 The Academy of Mediterranean Talents is a six-month hybrid program (online and in-person), running from March to September 2026. I t is designed to explore and understand what defines Mediterranean identity, build a shared narrative, and turn high-impact ideas into concrete projects for the region. The program is built around a “commons” approach - encouraging collaboration around shared resources and strengthening the sense of belonging to a unified Mediterranean community. WHAT YOU'LL GET FROM THIS PROGRAMME? Activités Workshops Residencies Deliverables Resources Experts & Mentors Certificate Mobility Grant 2 to 4 hours of weekly work (online sessions + individual work) to explore Mediterranean challenges, learn from regional changemakers, and take action by developing high-impact projects for the region. Two in-person gatherings, one in Marseille and one in North Africa, designed to foster cross-cultural exchange and meaningful encounters with inspiring changemakers. Project deliverables and tools to complete at home, requiring an average of 2 hours of individual work per week. Privileged access to online resources, a community of peers and committed actors, and enriching conversations with Mediterranean experts. Personalized support from a network of specialists from across the Mediterranean basin. A non-certifying completion certificate issued at the end of the program, provided you attend 70% of sessions and complete 80% of the deliverables. A selective financial grant awarded each year to a small number of participants to attend Mediterranean and international events, increase the visibility of their initiatives, and act as ambassadors for the ATM community. This support is designed to help projects grow and shine beyond the program. WHO IS THIS PROGRAM FOR? Aged 20 to 40, from any professional field, and involved in initiatives relevant to the Mediterranean. A citizen or resident of one of the following 13 countries: France, Morocco, Spain, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Lebanon, Italy, Malta, Syria, Palestine or Turkey. Leading a project or initiative that has a positive impact on the Mediterranean. Critères Motivated to engage with Mediterranean issues and contribute to building a shared, positive narrative for the region. Proficient in English and/or French, both written and spoken. Foire aux questions 01 What Is the Academy of Mediterranean Talents ? The Academy of Mediterranean Talents programme helps shift the way we look at both shores of our region, unleashing the potential of Mediterranean youth to create new narratives and transform their societies through unifying, locally rooted initiatives. While offering an innovative approach, the ATM renews perspectives on the Mediterranean territory and its key issues. It provides a transversal and multidisciplinary framework combining skills modules related to environmental, socio-economic and cultural challenges, a project-based approach centred on the participants’ own initiatives, as well as both in-person and online sessions. The ATM brings together 25 project holders or initiative leaders committed to the Mediterranean. These actors include intrapreneurs, entrepreneurs, civil society initiative leaders, artists, journalists, and more 02 What are key dates to remember? ● 11/01/2026: Application deadline ● 09/03/2026: Start of the support programme for the 25 participants ● May 2026: First in-person meeting 03 How much does it cost to participate? The programme takes place online and is entirely free of charge. Only the two in-person meetings, held between each phase of the programme, will require physical attendance. For these trips, airfare, accommodation, and local transportation costs are covered. However, some meal expenses may remain the responsibility of the participant. 04 What are the selection criteria? Projects will be selected based on several key criteria: the applicant’s willingness to engage in the creation of new Mediterranean narratives, the environmental and social impact of their project on the region, the project’s viability, its development potential, its level of innovation, and the demonstrated need for support. 05 What documents should I prepare to apply? The application consists of a form with questions about your project and your motivation. All additional documents are optional: CV Pitch deck Any supplementary document that explains the project in more detail 06 What is the selection process? The first stage of the selection process is based on the information provided in the application form. Group interviews will then be organised to meet and exchange with potential participants, allowing us to better understand their motivations and the potential impact of their project. This will be followed by an in-depth phase with individual interviews. After this, an initial phase will allow the 25 participants to immerse themselves in the programme by producing their first deliverables, helping them acquire knowledge on Mediterranean issues, build a shared vision of the region, and refine their individual project. To ensure strong group commitment, participation in the first sessions will be decisive: applicants who do not attend or do not engage sufficiently may be replaced. In such cases, we will immediately activate the waiting list by integrating the highest-ranked available candidates, in order to maintain a stable group of 25 talents throughout the programme.

Chacun des candidats devra être porteur d’un projet (associatif, culturel, artistique, entrepreneurial,..) déjà réfléchi (des premiers développements concrets constitueront un plus) en lien avec la Méditerranée, sa mer et ses enjeux contemporains, implanté dans l’un des 10 pays cibles du programme. Un accent particulier sera porté dans la sélection des profils sur les femmes méditerranéennes et sur le thème de l’entrepreneuriat féminin en Méditerranée, afin d’accompagner les thématiques plus spécifiques rencontrées par les femmes qui transforment et impactent positivement les mondes méditerranéens. Volonté : Le candidat mobilise son temps afin d’être pro-actif chaque semaine de la formation. Présence : Le candidat s’engage à être présent lors des formations en distanciel et des retraites en physique. Communauté : Le candidat s’engage à faire partie d’une communauté d’apprenants fondée sur l’échange et le partage. Le projet Méditerranéité du projet : Le candidat porte un projet qui s’inscrit dans un cadre pan-méditerranéen, qui est d’abord ancré dans un territoire méditerranéen et qui contribue au rayonnement de celui-ci. Singularité du projet : Le projet porté par le candidat se veut innovant, réfléchi et concret. LES PARTENAIRES DU PROGRAMME L’Académie des Talents méditerranéens est un programme porté par le Campus de l’Agence française de développement (AFD) et StartupBRICS, pensé et créé par des partenaires qui, chaque jour, s’engagent en faveur de la Méditerranée et de ses enjeux. Experts dans leurs domaines respectifs -la recherche, le développement, l’environnement, l’entrepreneuriat, l’économie, la jeunesse- ils accompagneront la cohorte et ses projets pour faire rayonner et émerger une Méditerranée positive . Le Campus AFD est un laboratoire d’innovations pédagogiques qui met au point et développe, avec ses partenaires, des formations adaptées aux besoins en compétence des acteurs de projets et politiques de développement durable dans les pays d’intervention de l’AFD. Grâce à la combinaison de son expertise pédagogique inspirée des enseignements des sciences cognitives et d’une expertise sur les enjeux de développement, le Campus développe, avec l’appui de différents acteurs, des parcours pédagogiques innovants, pour aider les apprenants à appréhender les transitions dans leur complexité et agir en conscience pour transformer. Rattachée au Ministère de l’Europe et des Affaires étrangères, la Délégation Interministérielle à la Méditerranée, anime et coordonne les actions mises en œuvre dans le cadre de la politique de la France en Méditerranée. Fondé en 2013, StartupBRICS a sillonné l’Afrique de l'innovation en explorant sur le terrain les écosystèmes numériques de plus de 30 pays africains, prenant le pouls de l'Afrique 2.0 et chroniquant le quotidien de la Tech Africaine à travers des centaines d'articles, interviews et analyses pour les plus grands médias internationaux comme Le Monde, Les Echos, Huffington Post, RFI ou encore le Point Afrique. StartupBRICS s’attache à mettre en valeur et documenter l’entrepreneuriat africain et émergent, ses acteurs et ses actualités. Au-delà de sa mission éditoriale, StartupBRICS s’affirme comme une société de conseil en innovation spécialisée sur les marchés africains et émergents, dont le cœur de métier repose sur l’analyse d'écosystèmes, le sourcing de startups et la facilitation des connexions entre startups et grands comptes dans le cadre notamment du sommet annuel EMERGING Valley depuis le territoire Aix-Marseille-Provence. StartupBRICS s’appuie sur un réseau puissant d'experts et d’acteurs de terrain de référence, qui lui offre une connexion privilégiée aux écosystèmes numériques sur l'axe Europe-Méditerranée-Afrique. Avec ses 5 millions d’habitants, La Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur , collectivité territoriale française, est reconnue pour ses nombreux atouts : quatre universités, dix clusters innovants, un riche patrimoine historique et des sites naturels exceptionnels. La Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur a été dotée de compétences exclusives comme le développement de l’économie, l’aménagement du territoire et l’’environnement, les transports, l’emploi et la formation professionnelle et l’éducation. Elle partage des compétences avec d’autres collectivités telles que la santé, le sport, la culture, le tourisme et la lutte contre la fracture numérique. Motrice dans la coopération politique euro-méditerranéenne avec un réseau dynamique et une expertise reconnue, la Région Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur est liée à d’autres territoires locaux et nationaux à travers des accords de coopération. Par ailleurs, elle organise chaque année l’événement « Méditerranée du Futur » qui réunit durant deux jours les représentants des gouvernements méditerranéens, les autorités régionales et locales, les experts d’OSC, des entrepreneurs et des académiques. . Les thématiques abordées sont liées aux grands enjeux du bassin méditerranéen et aux différentes solutions qui permettent d’y faire face. L’Institut océanographique Paul Ricard est un laboratoire d’océanologie qui s’intéresse aux enjeux marins actuels en Méditerranée. Il mène une double mission de recherche et de sensibilisation pour apprendre et protéger la mer. Plus grande université francophone, Aix-Marseille Université (AMU) accueille 80 000 étudiants et près de 8 000 personnels sur 5 grands campus aux standards internationaux. Propriétaire de son patrimoine, l’université est présente sur 9 grandes villes dans 4 départements. Université responsable et engagée, Aix-Marseille Université fait du « bien vivre ensemble » une priorité et s’illustre dans les classements internationaux par sa politique de lutte contre les discriminations et plus globalement, sa politique de RSE. Largement ouverte sur le monde depuis sa création (10 000 étudiants internationaux et plus de 40 diplômes en partenariat international) elle est lauréate de l’appel à projet de la Commission Européenne pour construire avec ses 9 partenaires européens « CIVIS, a European Civic University », contribuant aux grands défis sociétaux orientés particulièrement vers l’Afrique et la Méditerranée. L’Institut d’archéologie méditerranéenne ARKAIA est un pôle de convergence des compétences de recherche et de formation en archéologie et en archéosciences réunies à Aix-Marseille Université. Il interroge les espaces méditerranéens en diachronie, de la Préhistoire aux périodes récentes, en mettant en synergie les capacités matérielles et humaines de 14 laboratoires inscrits dans les périmètres des sciences humaines et sociales, de l’environnement, de la santé et des technologies. L’Institut Sociétés en Mutation en Méditerranée (SoMuM) est un institut d’établissement d’Aix-Marseille Université. Il fédère les forces disciplinaires d'Aix-Marseille Université sur les études méditerranéennes et renforce leur rayonnement international, en associant trois composantes, huit mentions de master, deux écoles doctorales et douze laboratoires de Sciences humaines et sociales. Au croisement de la recherche et de la formation, l’institut SoMuM fournit des clés de compréhension sur les mutations des sociétés, d’hier, d’aujourd’hui et de demain, autour de la Méditerranée, de l’Europe à l’Afrique et au Moyen-Orient, et de trois axes scientifiques : « Transitions, déstabilisations durables et crises », « Dynamiques, circulations et héritages culturels », « Recompositions territoriales et interactions ». La fabrique des récits est une entité de Sparknews qui sensibilise à l’importance de porter des nouveaux récits en lien avec les enjeux sociaux et environnementaux, par le prisme de l’art et de la culture. Depuis 10 ans, Sparknews accompagne les médias, entreprises, et acteurs du secteur culturel, pour faire émerger les récits incarnant une société plus résiliente, plus inclusive et plus durable. L’Institut des futurs souhaitables se définit comme une école de la réinvention qui propose des formations, des conférences, des outils et des ateliers pour imaginer demain. INCO accompagne depuis 10 ans l'émergence d’une nouvelle économie plus inclusive et plus durable en soutenant sur les 5 continents, des entreprises à fort impact social et environnemental mais également en formant les chercheurs et chercheuses d’emploi aux métiers du futur. Il y a 3 ans, INCO a lancé Minassa, le premier incubateur de startups culturelles et créatives en Tunisie, implanté au cœur de la médina de Tunis. L’incubateur a accompagné à ce jour 84 entreprises et initiatives culturelles et créatives, ainsi que près de 300 chercheuses d’emploi vers les métiers du digital. Le Centre pour l'intégration en Méditerranée (CMI) est une initiative multi-partenariale où les agences de développement, les gouvernements, les autorités locales et la société civile du pourtour méditerranéen se réunissent pour échanger des idées, discuter des politiques publiques et identifier des solutions régionales pour relever les défis régionaux en Méditerranée. Depuis le 1er juillet 2021, et onze ans après sa création, le CMI a officiellement rejoint l'Organisation des Nations Unies (ONU), hébergé par le Bureau des Nations Unies pour les services d'appui aux projets (UNOPS). www.cmimarseille.org

PRÉSENTATION DU PROGRAMME L’Académie des Talents méditerranéens est un parcours de formation de 6 mois qui se veut hybride et itinérant, pour capitaliser sur tous les atouts du 21ème siècle -ceux des nouvelles technologies et de la mobilité notamment- tout en repartant des mythes et des récits qui ont forgé l’histoire et l’ADN si particulier de notre Mare Nostrum. Celà afin d’écrire le nouveau récit d’un avenir en commun positif, en s’appuyant sur une jeunesse engagée, créative et qui aspire à s’emparer de son avenir. Le programme répond à une idée renouvelée de la Méditerranée et de sa jeunesse de se rencontrer, porter des projets, penser une Méditerranée commune afin de se réaliser. Le parcours a été créé pour offrir un espace de rencontre, de réflexion, d’inspiration et d’action. Ce parcours s’adresse à des jeunes entre 20 et 40 ans, porteurs de projets méditerranéens qui cherchent à définir et construire une Méditerranée positive . Le programme ambitionne de les accompagner dans la définition et le déploiement de leur projet d’une part et de leur offrir une vision et une compréhension plurielles de la Méditerranée d’aujourd’hui d’autre part. Le cursus académique du programme s’inscrit dans cette ambition, en associant temps de rencontre et de co-création en présentiel entre les deux rives , et temps d’apprentissage collectifs et individuels, en synchrone et en asynchrone pour alterner les périodes d’enrichissement mutuels et de consolidation personnelle. Une maquette pédagogique innovante et éclectique servira ainsi ces objectifs, afin de faire émerger une nouvelle génération de transformateurs méditerranéens à fort potentiel, de talents issus de nos deux rives. La force du programme repose aussi sur la pluralité des secteurs représentés par ces futurs ambassadeurs de la Méditerranée , qui viendront renforcer les connaissances de chacun et créer un commun méditerranéen.
